Welcome to the web site of Gene Cate, Wildlife Artist.

We are all born with the capacity to be creative. How did we all come to possess that quality? In the Bible, Genesis 1:26-27 says, “And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness...”” In other words, we were made with that quality. Another title for God is Creator, since He has created all things. Revelations 4:11 says, “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will, they existed and were created.” It’s obvious that God loves to create; he loves to use His artistic abilities, and He has given us a portion of that desire and ability.

Have you ever watched the fiery red glow of an evening sky as the sun sinks into the horizon? Beautiful isn’t it? Ever stood on a mountain at night, and gazed up at the vastness of it all? Isaiah 40:26 says, “Raise your eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing.”

Our greatest minds, engineers, and artists, could not begin to duplicate the magnificent things that the Creator has accomplished. We cannot even begin to fathom that kind of wisdom and power. (Read Romans 1:20)

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “Everything he has made pretty in its time. Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the true God has made from the start to the finish.”

So the next time you stop to appreciate something beautiful, be it a sunset, or the stars in the night sky, or even the work of your own hands, meditate over where it all truly comes from.
